- It is important to gather part information for developments of electronic products. Delay of delivering information or lack of information may give obstacles getting into a nightmare of redesigning just before starting mass production process. Present information exchanging process mostly need to print out information such as specifications of electronic parts which parts suppliers have on papers to provide to set makers fully based upon human resources even among parts suppliers and set makers. Furthermore, delivery formats of 3D data, simulation data and environmental information need to respond to individual requests of set makers for part suppliers. An efficient infrastructure of exchanging information becomes crucially necessary in total supply chains among parts suppliers and set makers for accurate and timely exchange of information.

RosettaNet Japan, RNJ established the part information exchanging working group for realizing an end-to-end manufacturing among set makers without any reversal process caused by human errors and improving process efficiency in information delivery among parts suppliers. The working group has been studying a concept of an infrastructure of part information exchange by summarizing requests and standardizing exchanging environments among set makers and parts suppliers. The result will give further cost savings, higher quality control capability and timely products delivery to markets for set makers, and timely and efficient information delivery for parts suppliers.
