The purpose of RosettaNet Japan (RNJ)

RNJ (RosettaNet Japan) was estalished in April, 2000, as the exclusive Japanese affiliate of RosettaNet, to implement industry-wide RosettaNet standards for contributing to establish global supply chain structures through information sharing with RosettaNet and other affiliated organizations in the world.  RNJ's working group activities contribute to establish global standards from Japanese companies' point of view through the developments of standards which is available for Japanese members to use.  RNJ also makes efforts on PR for RosettaNet standards and promotion to implement the standards.  

 

What does RNJ work for ?

One of the main activities of RNJ is working group (WG) activity which study business process to realize adopting Rosettanet standards in member companies who are recruited in every year.  Concrete usage of PIPs® described in implementation guidelines (RIGs: RosettaNet Implementation Guidelines) and study results of common practices & problems such as laws & regulations and input tools are studied in WGs.

 

RNJ WGs also make efforts on modifications of existing PIPs®and participation in RosettaNet milestone programs which need new developments of PIP®  in order for establishing RosettaNet standards applicable for Japanese companies.

 

PR activities such as delivering translated RosettaNet information into Japanese  through RNJ web site.  Workshops and other related events are also held for PR and promotion of RosettaNet standards.

 

Relationships among RosettaNet Global and affiliates in each countries

RosettaNet Global is in charge of actual development of standards.  Affiliates such as RNJ work for the promotion and the implementation of standards in each countries.

 

Those activities are closely related with synchronized co-operation among RosettaNet Global and affiliates.  For example, results done in each countries & regions become feed-bacs to RosettaNet Global for referring to the standards developments.

 

Launch of the GS1 US High Tech and Electronics initiative, began on January 1, 2012.
The RosettaNet brand and ongoing community support are maintained by GS1 US.
GS1 US continues to maintain and support RosettaNet standards for the foreseeable future.
A forum to address the industry’s current and future business needs continues with the industry engagement team at GS1 US.

The RosettaNet Standard remains free and open to the public.

 

Affiliates established in the world

Affiliates were established in Australia, China, Europe, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

 

Memberships in Rosettanet Global and affiliates

You can choose the memberships of RosettaNet Global and affiliates based on your purposes.

 

The membership of RosettaNet Global has a right for the development of PIPs®.

 

Affiliates memberships such as RNJ have rights to participate to Working Group (WG) activities and to access to information.

 

Thus, you are able to choose either RosettaNet Global and affiliates based on what you want to do and where (which country) you want.

 

Then you will pay the membership fee for the registration.

 

After the launch of the GS1 US High Tech and Electronics (HT&E) initiative, followings are membership categories and benefits, which began on January 1, 2012.

  • GS1 US Partner Connection subscribers gain RosettaNet benefits at no additional cost.
  • Past RosettaNet and GS1 US Charter members can upgrade to GS1 US Partner Connections subscribers, receive those benefits and retain their RosettaNet benefits.
  • Past RosettaNet and non-members of GS1 US become GS1 US Partner Connections Associate members and retain their RosettaNet benefits.
  • Members of affiliates, e.g. RNJ,  retain their RosettaNet benefits, which receive memberships of GS1 US Partner Connections Associate members.

The governance of RNJ

RNJ has the general meeting as the top Legislative body comprised by RNJ members, which has a chair, a auditor and a adviser.

 

The steering committee is the managing body of RNJ, which is commissioned by the general meeting. The steering committee holds monthly meetings for the operations for WGs and events.

 

The secretariat office is the operating body, which is commissioned by the steering committee.

 

Rights and duties of RNJ membership

RNJ has "Members" and "Supporting members" in the membership.

 

Members are able to contribute to the management of RNJ. General meetings and the steering committee consist of representatives of RNJ members. Members are available to participate to RNJ members' exclusive activities, i.e. seminars and working group (WG). Members are available to login RN's global site's members' page(http://www.rosettanet.org). Membership Fee is ¥500,000- for RNJ Members.

 

Non-profit organizations, academic authorities and individuals have a right to join RNJ as supporting members in order to cooperate popularization and enlightenment of RosettaNet's standards. Supporting members are available to participate to RNJ members' exclusive activities, i.e. seminars and working group (WG) activities. Supporting Membership Fee is free of charge.

 

The membership in RNJ, when the headoffice is a member of RosettaNet Global

An individually registered & established company is necessary to become RNJ Members, even the headoffice is a member of RosettaNet Global, as far as the company in Japan wants to participate to RNJ activities.

 

The condition is the same when a company want to participate to an affiliate activities in the world.

 

The qualification of RNJ membership

Any company & organization in Japan are available to be RNJ members, whoever are interested in the promotion and the implementation of RosettaNet standards.

Participation to RNJ WGs

RNJ members are anytime welcome to participate to WGs.

Non-members' participation to RNJ WGs

A trial admission is available for non-members for limited period. Please contact to the secretariate office or WGs' leaders.

Also authorized non-member-individuals are available to participate to RNJ WGs by the steering committee, who have expertise and academic background.

Current WGs

The exchanging parts engineering information WG works most aggressively in RNJ.
